Cottage Inspired Entry Way

What was once a plain and clutter-prone pass-through is now a welcoming, organized, and sunlit entryway that sets the tone for the entire home.

The Blank (or not-so-blank) Canvas

The entry way when we started had extensive water damage in the ceiling that had to be repaired.

Inspired by timeless cottage charm, this transformation began with the addition of classic beadboard, bringing instant warmth and texture to the space.

Built-in Locker Storage

Built-in lockers provide everyday storage for jackets, shoes, backpacks, and more for each of our four children.

To meet the needs of busy family life, we added custom built-in lockers—each with space for shoes, jackets, and backpacks—to help keep daily essentials tidy and off the floor. A cozy window bench now anchors the space, offering a peaceful spot to soak up the morning light, complete with hidden storage and charming open shelving for extra baskets, books, or seasonal touches.

The Corgi Stamp of Approval

Words cannot express the peaceful feeling of the morning sun shining into this cozy space. Watson approves!

Rather than replace the existing floor tile, we gave it new life with durable deck paint, proving that even small, budget-friendly changes can make a big impact. The result is an entryway that feels both beautiful and hardworking—full of personality, purpose, and that unmistakable cottage warmth.

The End Result

The finished space, complete with window seat, lockers, refinished tile floor, and that beautiful arched doorway.
